At Batley Parish CE Primary Academy we pride ourselves on preparing children for modern life in Britain. We actively promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs in all that we do. We promote the British values alongside our seven Christian values of community, hope, love, trust, forgiveness and respect. We are lucky that our children, families, the community and staff represent a diverse range of backgrounds and we believe this is what makes our school so special. We teach our children the importance of difference and how to contribute to life both in and outside of school and in the community, including sporting events, trips and visits. Our planning and teaching links to three curriculum drivers: Community, Hope and Self (see curriculum statement). These incorporate allow us to help children develop an understanding of how they fit into modern British society and the wider world. We aim and hope for our children to leave Batley Parish confident, happy, responsible, understanding individuals who recognise right from wrong and accept and respect others, their beliefs and faiths.
